Virtual production is not a look, it is a way of scheduling. Instead of moving a crew to four locations over four days, the locations come to the set and the film is shot in one. That changes the budget line that actually hurts on a corporate production, which is rarely the camera and almost always the days.

What virtual production actually saves
Three effects, and they are the reason clients book it a second time.
Effect 1Travel days disappear
A production line, a city skyline, a clinical corridor: shot in camera, in one day, without permits, travel or location fees. On multi-site projects this is usually where the saving pays for the studio several times over.
Effect 2Weather stops being a risk
An outdoor scene is the classic reason a corporate schedule slips by a week. On the wall the shooting day happens on the day it was planned, which matters most when your people are only available on that date.
Effect 3Post production gets shorter
The background is real light falling on your product and your people, not a green edge to be repaired later. That removes the compositing stage, and with it the round of surprises that tends to come with it.
When it is the wrong choice
The wall replaces places, not credibility. If your film is about the people who actually do the work, in the hall where they actually do it, then that hall is the point of the film and no LED surface improves it.
We say this before you ask, because a virtual production that is used for the wrong reason produces a film that looks expensive and convinces nobody. The honest test is simple: would a viewer who knows your company recognise the place? If yes, shoot there. If the place is interchangeable and only sets a mood, the wall is faster, cheaper and more reliable.
In practice most projects are mixed. We shoot the people on location and the interchangeable settings in the studio, and the cut holds both together.

Questions about virtual production
Do we have to come to your studio?
No. The wall exists as a fixed stage in Erlangen and as a mobile setup that travels anywhere in Germany. Which one is cheaper depends on how many people would otherwise have to travel to us.
How big is the wall?
35 m² with camera tracking, plus lighting and audio. That is enough for interviews, product shots and medium shots with two to three people. For wide crowd scenes it is not the right tool.
Is it cheaper than shooting on location?
Not automatically. As a rule of thumb it starts paying off at two travel days or two interchangeable locations. Below that, a normal shoot is usually cheaper, and we will say so.
Can we book the studio without a production?
